Deep Reel
A downloadable game for Windows
What is this game?
Welcome to Deep Reel, an exhilarating fishing simulator where the tranquility of the open waters is shattered by the adrenaline-pumping thrill of bullet hell boss fights!
Fight bosses and get better rods!
How do I play?
Start off by just fishing. And then, just nail the quick time event and you're in for a boss fight! Defeat bosses to get better rods, giving better damage and reaction time. Press Z when a fish bites to try to reel it in, and then the quick time event should appear. Hit the Z when the indicator is on the green zone!
(Hey, also, if you fail it 2 or more times, the speed of indicator is halved. No problem.)
Controls
Z to fight
Z to hook the fish/stop quick time event
WASD to move

Final thoughts
Whew this was fun! This game was made for our first game jam. It may have not been totally finished, but we did try our best nonetheless :D
We have some plans on this game, and we're still working on it, so maybe this project will grow into something bigger than just a game jam entry. Stay tuned.

Haha, this game is really hard! The spinning things are hard to dodge when they come down, and the floating coral(?) hitboxes don’t match the image, so it’s hard to dodge those, too. Also, on my screen, I can move outside the game’s boundaries on the left side. It’s kind of fun, but it’s really hard.
